PolarCirkel boats. Visit Ny-Alesund, the northernmost
settlement in the world before returning to Longyearbyen
and Oslo for your return flight back to the US.

Depart from the US and arrive in Kangerlussuaq where you
will board the MS Fram. Your days on board will be filled
with opportunities to experience the fascinating Inuit culture,
spectacular icebergs, numerous species of whales and
seals, an abundant bird life including the white-tailed eagle,
the unique Arctic flora and, weather permitting, the Midnight
Sun. Visit Sisimiut, the second largest town in Greenland
and Dundas Village, an old settlement at the base of the
Dundas Mountain that closed down in 1985. See the
highest peak in West Greenland, Naparutaq, and take a
shore excursion where you will get to actually touch a glacier.
Return to Kangerlussuaq, situated in the end of the
Kangerlussuaqfjord (“big fjord”) for your return flight home.

Marguerite Bay, home to the only known breeding colony of
emperor penguins; Half Moon Island, with spectacular views
of the surrounding mountains; and Antarctic Sound, where
huge icebergs can be seen in addition to an estimated half-million
Adélie penguins. Cross the Drake Passage while
learning about this pristine land from experts. Return to
Buenos Aires for your return flight home to the US.
GRAND ARCTIC EXPEDITION
Oslo - Longyearbyen - Ny-Alesund - Oslo
You’ll enjoy a sightseeing tour of Longyearbyen before
embarking on this 12-day voyage on board the MS Polar
Star. Daily lectures will be held covering each day’s
upcoming itinerary. Keep a sharp eye out for seals, whales,
birds, Arctic flora and hopefully polar bears. Sail past the
sharply-peaked mountains of Prins Karls Forland and the
glacier lined Kongsfjord to reach the international research
center of Ny-Alesund where you join a guided tour. Reach
the 80˚ parallel and make a Zodiac landing to personally
experience the startling beauty of this High Arctic
Landscape. Weather permitting, make a Zodiac landing on
the Austfonna Glacier, 124 miles wide, in the remote region
of Svalbard. Return to Longyearbyen for your return trip to
Oslo then home to the US.
