Daily Itinerary
Day 1 Sat., July 26 - Mpls/St.Paul - Oslo
Depart Mpls/St.Paul on your transatlantic flight or request space from your home
city upon registration.
Day 2 Sun., July 27 - Oslo
Arrive at Gardermoen Airport Oslo. Transfer to hotel in city center. Balance of
day free to relax and adjust to time change. Welcome dinner and overnight at the
classic Grand Hotel. [D]
Day 3 Mon., July 28 - Oslo
Morning sightseeing tour of Norway’s capital city includes a visit to Vigeland Sculpture
Park and the Viking Ship Museum. Balance of day free to explore this vibrant city.

Day 4 Tue., July 29 - Oslo - Skien - Porsgrunn - Kristiansand
Depart for Skien. At Brekke Park, visit the Telemark Museum with its collection
of old traditional houses and folk-art. Proceed to Porsgrunn. Opportunity to purchase
Norway’s famous porcelain at factory prices. Continue along idyllic coastal villages
with a stop in Lillesand, a town which has preserved its special charm with many
beautiful patrician houses from the 18th and 19th centuries. Arrive in Kristiansand,
"the capital" of the South Coast. Dinner and overnight at Clarion Hotel Ernst. [B,D]
Day 5 Wed., July 30 - Kristiansand - Stavanger
Drive the North Sea Scenic Highway, the link between Southern and Western Norway.
The coast has some of the finest and longest beaches in Norway. At Hå the road runs
only a few feet from the open sea and pebble beach. The play of light and color,
land and sea has been an inspiration and motivation to a number of artists who live
in this area. En route to Stavanger, we pass through Jæren, one of Norway’s leading
agricultural districts. This flat and stony area located on a huge glacial moraine
is probably the largest expanse of level ground to be found in the entire country.
At Byrkjedalstunet in Rogaland, enjoy a traditional Norwegian dinner in what was
formerly a cheese dairy. In addition to thousands of candles produced in the candle
shop there are souvenirs, Norwegian handcraft and Norwegian wool products. Overnight

Day 6 Thu., July 31 - Stavanger - Bergen
Morning sightseeing tour includes a visit to the Stavanger Cathedral. Arrive in Bergen at 9:00 p.m. Time on own
prior to our late afternoon departure by hydrofoil to Bergen, Norway’s second largest
city. Arrive to Bergen at 9:00 pm. Dinner on own. Overnight at Clarion Admiral Hotel. [B]
Day 7 Fri., Aug. 1 - Bergen
Morning sightseeing tour of Bergen includes Troldhaugen, home of Norway's internationally-known
composer, the late Edvard Grieg. Tour concludes with a guided walk through the historic
Hanseatic Wharf. Balance of day free to visit the famous Fish Market, ride the funicular
to the top of Mount Fløyen for a spectacular view of Bergen, or stroll through the
old cobble-stoned streets. Dinner on own. Overnight

Day 8 Sat., Aug. 2 - Bergen - Voss - Flåm - Lofthus
Drive to Voss and experience the famous “Norway in a Nutshell” excursion, taking
you through some of the most breathtaking scenery in Fjord Norway. Depart by train
on the Oslo/Bergen Railway to Myrdal. Change to the Flåm Line, ranked as one of the
top 20 train rides in the world. Descend the Flåm Valley, dropping 2800 feet within
13 miles. Cruise the dramatic Aurland and Nærøy Fjords (placed on UNESCO’s World
Heritage List in 2005) from Flåm to Gudvangen. Ascend the 13 hairpin bends of the
thrilling Stalheim road back to Voss. Continue to Lofthus, located in Hardanger,
the heart of Norway's cherry, apple and pear orchards. Dinner and overnight at the
exquisite Ullensvang Hotel. [B,D]
Day 9 Sun., Aug. 3 - Lofthus - Morgedal
In Kinsarvik, tour and shop at Hardanger Tinn, a pewter factory, prior to our drive
south along the Sør Fjord to Røldal. Travel over Haukeligrend to Telemark, an area
rich in cultural traditions. Descend the valley to Morgedal. Visit the Norwegian
Ski Adventure Center offering an exciting adventure through the history of modern
skiing. Dinner and overnight at Morgedal Hotel. [B,D]
Day 10: Mon., August 4 - Morgedal – Oslo
Drive to Kviteseid. Cruise a portion of the Telemark Canal, the 60- mile stretch
of water starting in Skien and ending in Dalen. The Canal with its locks was completed
in 1892 and has retained an air of the 19th century. Sail past Fjågesund, Hogga
and Kjeldal to Lunde. Proceed to the Heddal Stave Church, Norway’s largest stave
church from the 12th century. Continue to Oslo. Farewell dinner and overnight at
the Holmenkollen Part Hotel Rica with a lovely view of the Oslo Fjord. [B,D]
Day 11 Tue., Aug. 5 - Oslo - USA
Tour ends following breakfast. Transfer to airport for return flight. Longer stays
may be requested upon registration for an additional charge of $50. Inquire about
